One of my favorite videos, teaching, and the humanities.
This music video has been a favorite of mine for a while.
Today, though, I felt the rush of having an interpretive insight, that helped generate more meaning from a text. That spiked my literature and teacher instincts. Noticing one wee little detail at one wee little moment made me watch again, and notice that the detail is actually there throughout the text. That's what I love about good literature, helping others work with details is what I love about teaching.
Watch the video again if you didn't already. This time, watch for circles vs. quadrilaterals.
"Any medium powerful enough to extend man's reach is powerful enough to topple his world. To get the medium's magic to work for one's aims rather than against them is to attain literacy."
-- Alan Kay, "Computer Software", Scientific American, September 1984
